Carnegie Hill Neighbors has produced and published this gorgeous 400 page guide to the Architecture of our neighborhood. They should be commended on this tremendous achievement. Pick one up for friends and family that live in Carnegie Hill or for your own coffee table.
My personal favorite is the self guided beaux arts town house walk through the neighborhood.

Crumbs coming to Carnegie Hill!

On the SouthWest corner of 93rd & Lex that was briefly, and unsuccessfully occupied by a tapestry shop, we are getting a Crumbs bake shop. All signs in the windows indicate it is ready soon. This continues the trend of high-end retail coming to the part of Lexington from 92nd to 94th streets. The Asian Laundromat on the corner of 94th & Lex has been leased. I hear a kitchen design supply shop has taken the corner space.

Sales office for new luxury condominium in Carnegie Hill

The space previously occupied by Miracle Movers, on Lexington Avenue (91/92) - has a new tenant.

The developers for 180 East 93rd Street - a luxury condominium featuring 9 homes on 93rd Street between Lexington & 3rd avenue have begun to build out their sales office at this location.

Early word on the project is that the building will be 6 stories high and house 9 apartments that will be half and full floors with asking prices of around $2,000 psf.

More details on this new development to come, as we will follow this project throughout its development. This is the first boutique luxury condominium in Carnegie Hill to be located in the 90's, east of lexington, we wish them the best of luck.

What's next?

The signficant improvement of the retail shops on Lexington Avenue between 90th - 94th Streets continues.
The northwest corner of 94th & Lex, which housed Asia 94 Laundromat & Dry Cleaners has recently closed their doors.

Hopefully the trend of high-end owner operated retail that makes Carnegie Hill unique will continue. Over the last few years, the overhaul of this retail stretch has been spectacular: Sfoglia, edit, Raising Rover and many others have come into the neighborhood and flourished.

Please post here if you have any inside scoop on the next tenant.
